The Parish Missionary’s role is to make missionary disciples at the parish they are serving. Parish Missionaries teach parishioners the art of living by fostering a relationship built on trust and authenticity, encouraging and building parishioners up in their faith through small groups and equipping and sending them out to make disciples. This is what we are all made for as Baptized Christians, to live in relationship with Jesus Christ and His church and to make Him known to others. Jesus modeled this for us in His time on earth, now Parish Missionaries are to do the same at the parish. It is important to note that this is not another program but is a lifestyle of striving to be a saint and to bring others to sanctity.

FOCUS Missions is one of the fastest growing Catholic mission trip organizations in the world, sending thousands of participants around the world to encounter and serve poverty of all forms.  The Missions Specialist is a core member of the FOCUS Missions team who trains and coaches Mission Directors to carry out successful mission trips, serving the poor in charity and truth, while helping participants come to a deeper understanding of their own relationship with Jesus.  This includes routine meetings with the trip director, vision casting, and adherence to department processes (checklist, booking procedures, payments etc.) while constantly striving to push the Missions department toward a higher level of staff care and efficiency. Position Responsibilities

Trip Success and Management  

• Manage comprehensive planning and logistics for 10-20 trips

A Gift Operations Specialist helps support those who are front-line missionaries by directing donations with the utmost accuracy to the correct missionary/staff member/national project from the right donor, whether the donation is a paper gift or electronic. Gift Operations Specialists will also see that receipting and acknowledgment letters both electronic and paper are sent out in a timely manner. This is a highly administrative, detail-oriented role that is critical to the mission operations of FOCUS.

• Processing donations, including entering donations into software and depositing checks. 
• Generating electronic gift batches and submitting them for payment. 
• Gathering and sorting mail from the building.
• Generating & sending thank you letters to benefactors.

Position Mission

The Sr. Manager, Suitability is an expert in processes and scaling with a knowledge of FOCUS culture, hiring practices, and applicant selection.  They assist the Director of Suitability in managing FOCUS’ hiring suitability process in collaboration with Recruitment and Collegiate Outreach, with particular responsibility for the scaling, systems, and implementation of the Suitability Process.  The Sr. Manager reports to Director of Suitability and manages a team of FOCUS staff and external contractors.  Because the Sr. Manager role is Mission Partner Development-funded, they also engage in deputized fundraising.

Position Responsibilities

• Suitability:
  • Ownership of the Suitability process; improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This includes everything from background checks to each stage of the suitability review process to communication with the hiring Regional Directors.
  • Ensure scalable and solid structures in place for growth of the Suitability process to review and assist in hiring decisions for 20% organizational growth and beyond.
  • Monitor and oversee the operations of the suitability process in collaboration with Recruitment and Collegiate Outreach.
  • Oversee analysis of data received from our suitability data to provide actionable data internally within HR as well as within the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000 - $90,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.

Personal Mission Partner Development (MPD) is one way in which we invite others to be on mission with us through the gift of their financial support. In this position, we will invite you to engage in personal MPD efforts and fundraise on behalf of the FOCUS.

Position Mission and Summary

The FOCUS Alumni Team exists to support our alumni as they continue to know Christ Jesus and fulfill His Great Commission - living missionary discipleship out in the world.

As our Manager of Community of Mission Operations, you’ll bring that mission to life by building and leading the systems that support every Community of Mission nationwide. You’ll create the operational processes that determine how new alumni are welcomed into a city, how Connect events and Quarterly Mission Gatherings are executed with excellence, how Alumni Coordinators are supported in leading missionary communities, and how we track and assess the engagement and health of each local mission. This role blends high-level systems architecture with remote oversight of implementation - ensuring that Mission Managers, Alumni Coordinators, and future specialists have the tools, clarity, and support they need to run vibrant and healthy Communities of Mission. Over time, you will grow and lead a small team dedicated to scaling these processes across dozens of cities.

In this position, we will invite you to engage in personal MPD efforts and fundraise on behalf of the FOCUS. This position will be expected to fundraise between $5,000-$7,500 a month to support their work with FOCUS. To thrive in serving the mission, the candidate will receive world-class training in this area and ample time to engage in their fundraising efforts.
