Position Mission

The Retreats Specialist (1) oversees the planning and administration of 10-15 retreats per semester through regular coaching and (2) takes ownership for and ensures progression in several special projects. Examples of special projects include resource development, website maintenance, non-collegiate engagement, retreat marketing strategy, strategic partnerships/sponsorships, quality evaluation/control, and retreat process evaluation/development.

This is a fundraised position, offering comprehensive training and resources to ensure success in building a support base. Additionally, dedicated time will be allocated during the workweek to focus on fundraising efforts, with robust guidance and tools provided to support this aspect of the role. In addition to departmental tasks, the Retreats Specialist, will be expected to live out the cultural virtues, participate in daily prayer and Mass and have a weekly plan of investment in mission. 

Position Responsibilities

  • Coaching
    • Hold regular, bi-weekly meetings with Retreat Directors (10-15 per semester) beginning as early as August. 
    • Retreat budget oversight: ensure that each retreat stays in positive financial standing. 
    • Ensure no less than 90% completion of recruitment goal across all assigned retreats. 
    • Maintain 4.3+ coaching helpfulness rating from retreat directors.
  • Project Management
    • Set deadlines in conversation with manager and achieve at least 90% completion per semester.
  • Process Development
    • Help come up with and implement ways to increase efficiencies in retreat processes such as building databases, tracking personnel who are trained in retreat direction and prayer teams. 
  • Event Planning
    • Identify issues and holes in retreat logistics. Help lead and plan logistics for annual Retreat Director Training. 
  • Retreat Director
    • Travel to help direct a retreat up to 3 times per semester.
  • Communication
    • Timeliness and professionalism in communicating with the team, directors, leaders, students, and hosts. 
    • 48-hour response to emails and 24-hour response to calls, voicemails, and texts. 
    • Handle conversations with all contacts in a way that conveys trust, safety, empathy, and transparency.
  • Role Competency and Specialization
    • Take an active role in further professional development.

Qualifications

  • Ideally 2+ years campus experience
  • At least one year campus TD experience
  • Experience having directed or led a FOCUS retreat is highly preferred. 

Compensation & Benefits

For this role, we anticipate paying $40,000 - $72,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
