Position Mission
The mission of FOCUS Retreat is to catalyze and mature intentional disciples in the Little Way of Evangelization through transformative encounters of prayer, the sacraments, and fellowship. We do this by providing world-class resources and training to accompany others to host local retreats. Currently, FOCUS Retreats supports and trains leaders to host our various retreat experiences.
FOCUS Retreats reaches thousands of participants each year through dozens of retreats held around the world. Because of their low barrier-of-entry, retreats are highly accessible and capable of reaching a diverse set of audiences. In the coming years, FOCUS Retreats hopes to expand our service to college students while also engaging other audiences such as FOCUS alumni, benefactors, and parishes.
The Retreats Partnership Specialist (1) works to establish strong relationships with parish, diocesan, and retreat center leadership in a way that generates leads and (2) oversees the planning and administration of 4-6 retreats per semester through regular coaching.
This is a fundraised position, offering comprehensive training and resources to ensure success in building a support base. Additionally, dedicated time will be allocated during the workweek to focus on fundraising efforts, with robust guidance and tools provided to support this aspect of the role. In addition to departmental tasks, the Retreats Partnership Specialist, will be expected to live out the cultural virtues, participate in daily prayer and Mass and have a weekly plan of investment in mission.
Position Responsibilities
Building Partnerships
Establish relationships and conduct pitch meetings with parish and diocesan leaders to generate 20 new retreats in the following 18 months. Interface with the lifelong mission teams to ensure clear communication when working with parish and diocesan contacts. Generate and maintain “featured partner” relationships with retreat centers in strategic hubs where retreats happen regularly.
Coaching
Hold regular, bi-weekly meetings with Retreat Directors (4-6 per semester) beginning as early as August. Retreat budget oversight: ensure that each retreat stays in positive financial standing. Ensure no less than 80% completion of recruitment goal across all assigned retreats. Maintain 4.2+ coaching helpfulness rating from retreat directors.
Project Management
Set deadlines in conversation with manager and achieve at least 90% completion per semester.
Event Planning
Attend and help put on the annual retreat director training.

Qualifications
- Ideally 2+ years campus experience
- Ideally at least one year campus TD experience
- Experience having directed or led a FOCUS retreat is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Spanish or German preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
For this role, we anticipate paying $48,000 - $72,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
