Senior Manager, Suitability

Position Mission
The Sr. Manager, Suitability is an expert in processes and scaling with a knowledge of FOCUS culture, hiring practices, and applicant selection. They assist the Director of Suitability in managing FOCUS’ hiring suitability process in collaboration with Recruitment and Collegiate Outreach, with particular responsibility for the scaling, systems, and implementation of the Suitability Process. The Sr. Manager reports to Director of Suitability and manages a team of FOCUS staff and external contractors. Because the Sr. Manager role is Mission Partner Development-funded, they also engage in deputized fundraising.
Position Responsibilities
- Suitability:
- Ownership of the Suitability process; improve efficiency, quality, and productivity. This includes everything from background checks to each stage of the suitability review process to communication with the hiring Regional Directors.
- Ensure scalable and solid structures in place for growth of the Suitability process to review and assist in hiring decisions for 20% organizational growth and beyond.
- Monitor and oversee the operations of the suitability process in collaboration with Recruitment and Collegiate Outreach.
- Oversee analysis of data received from our suitability data to provide actionable data internally within HR as well as within the organization.
- Manage Suitability contractors and helpers Serve as resident “expert” on suitability processes and systems as well as a growing mastery of Suitability decisions and vision.
- Staff Care:
- Oversee special projects as assigned for the Staff Care team as requested by the department head.
- Serve as a senior member of the Staff Care team providing support and counsel as needed to the department head and as requested with the day to day of the Staff Care team.
Qualifications
- Previous FOCUS Leadership, particularly in Collegiate Outreach
- Expertise in systems, business, scaling, or operations preferred
Compensation & Benefits
For this role, we anticipate paying $75,000 - $90,000/year. This range is an estimate. The actual amount may be higher or lower than the provided range and will be adjusted based on various factors including qualifications, experience, abilities, geographic location, and duties.
