Manager, Mission Development Operations

Location: Golden, CO preferred

Position Mission

This role serves the mission of FOCUS through a detailed understanding of donor data, ensuring accurate and timely information is provided to relevant staff on the Mission Development (MD) team. By doing so, this person will provide insights to help FOCUS best engage and care for our donors. The role will require consistent and responsive work, proactively implementing efficiencies, and a desire to serve the broader needs of a team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Reporting
    • Assess reporting needs and holes from different MD programs
    • Develop and build new reports as needed
    • Maintain and run existing reports
  • Analysis
    • Respond to ad hoc requests for new data metrics or analysis
    • Research and implement best practices in development metrics and KPIs
    • Work with Sr. Director of MD Operations to share these metrics with leadership in a way that tells a story, leads to action, and creates buy-in
  • Database Management
    • Isolate deficiencies and weak spots in the data in our database
    • Create processes and rules for utilizing the database and entering accurate data
    • Work with vendors to keep database clean with accurate info
  • Technology
    • Research new potential technology in collaboration with FOCUS’ Director of Business Solutions
    • Work with tech vendors to keep tech projects on schedule and produce correct deliverables
    • Train other MD staff on technology


  • 2+ years of data and analysis experience
  • 2+ years strategy and/or leadership experience
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or Virtuous software a plus
