Portfolio Manager

Location: Golden, CO preferred

Position Mission

The Portfolio Manager (West) is critical to the success of FOCUS’ Philanthropy team. This person will help to develop, track, and drive engagement plans for the top benefactors in the area, regularly analyze and drive accountability around portfolio activity, and serve as an area representative of the philanthropy operations team. This role will require managing specialized work consistently and efficiently, with confidence and competence, attention to detail, and a desire to serve the needs of the Mission Development team.

Position Responsibilities

  • Prospect Management
    • Assist West Area Director of Philanthropy in constructing, managing, and driving engagement plans for top benefactors to bring them closer to Christ and the mission of FOCUS
    • Ensure the right benefactors are being assigned and then engaged with the appropriate frequency, and that portfolios are a manageable size
    • Collaborate with other key areas of Mission Development to ensure high quality touchpoints, including Benefactor Engagement, Communications & Stewardship, and Planned Giving
  • Portfolio Analysis
    • Analyze movement of prospects towards qualification and solicitation
    • Assist and drive regular portfolio review sessions, ensuring active engagement and qualification/disqualification of all assigned benefactors
  • Operations
    • Responsible for assisting all area officers with CRM and technology-related questions
    • Ensure all prospect data is accurate and up to date for area benefactors, with more hands-on attention paid to the top 100 (solicitation details, call reports, prospect status and classification updates, etc.)

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working in fundraising/philanthropy 
  • Strong computer skills, including proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proficient knowledge of at least one CRM tool (experience with Raiser's Edge or Virtuous a plus)
  • Undergraduate degree preferred
